Nearly three years ago, so-called Islamic State fighters swept through northern Iraq, where the country’s oldest ethnic minority were living – the Yazidis.
Many of the men were shot, while the women and children were kidnapped, taken as hostage and raped.
The Victoria Derbyshire programme’s reporter Fiona Lamdin has spent a couple of days with a small group of women who have been resettled in Germany, and are trying to rebuild their lives.

This tribe is mostly Christian. Can you imagine the war against the west if Christians did this to Muslims? Persecution of Christians goes on in many places but little is said about it. If this was Christians raping Muslims BBC would say so. BBC is normally very balanced news. This is heinous no matter who is doing it, but the persecution of non-Muslims (Christians, Bahai, and others) is part of the story. Please, we just ask for solid balanced transparent reporting on this topic. Nothing more.
