According to the latest numbers, the tourism industry in the United States has lost roughly 40,000 jobs in the last year due to dwindling tourism numbers from overseas visitors. Those in the industry say that Trump is to blame, and global surveys of attitudes towards the United States appear to confirm that information. If Trump is serious about creating jobs in the US, the best thing he could do is resign from office, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains.

I am Canadian. As white as white can be. And as long as that sack of festering sewage is in the Oval office I will not set foot in the US. The US border guards at the Canadian/US border have orders to turn back Canadian born citizens who happen to be brown. People of Indian or Middle Eastern background are being pulled aside and told to go back because they don't have the right ID or papers. They are born in Canada, they have the correct passport and ID, but because they are BROWN they are not welcome in the US. As long as my fellow Canadians of any colour or ethnicity are not welcome, I choose to spend my money in Canada.
And if any Americans are traveling up here, I warn you, we do not have the same disgusting attitude towards skin colour or religion up here. Keep your filthy xenophobic misogynistic ideas to yourselves.

I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but this is nothing. It's off-peak season, winter. Just wait until summer comes, you're gonna see a hell of a bigger drop than 4%. Aside from a few southern states like Cali and FL, massive swaths of the country depend upon summer tourism, some towns depend on that money year round with no other major income source. I have a feeling this summer is going to be a new low, and thousands of people who are expecting to work this summer are probably going to be laid off due to low occupancy. It's a serious problem, tourism accounts for almost two trillion dollars a year in the US. Losing that money will have effects.
