“Despite granting journalist Michael Wolff nearly unfettered access to the West Wing, the White House was apparently blindsided by several explosive excerpts from Wolff’s resultant book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, which were published on Wednesday. Although staffers had expected the account of Donald Trump’s first few months in office to be unflattering, the severity of the claims—many made by former chief strategist Steve Bannon—reportedly thrust aides into frantic damage-control mode. “When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind,” the president said in a statement Wednesday, which was drafted alongside press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and communications director Hope Hicks. “Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was. It is the only thing he does well.”

Trump lawyer Charles Harder, who famously represented Hulk Hogan in his lawsuit against Gawker and Melania Trump in her libel suit against the Daily Mail, sent Bannon a cease-and-desist letter warning of imminent legal action and accusing him of breaching a non-disclosure agreement he signed during the 2016 campaign.”

Not sure if others will agree with me but is anyone else a little "burned out" over TYT's constant and repetitive coverage of Trump? If you look back over 2017, how many of the Trump stories were variations of the same story, with minute or even no new details of significance, and that ultimately turned out to be inconsequential to the public at large? If not virtually every story involved bashing Trump in some manner or other, then the handful of times when he really did something bad would gain more attention and significance instead of being drowned out in a sea of anti-Trump noise. It's as if TYT's world revolves around Trump and this plays right to his advantage – if everything is "extremely terrible and the worst", then nothing is "extremely terrible and the worst".

Maybe my memory is a little hazy but I don't recall them placing Obama under the same kind of microscopic attention and obsessiveness.
